I'm building a coffeetable using white curly maple legs and base along with a top glass enclosure framed with wild Texas Cherry. I want to make the most of the contrast between the maple and cherry. I have found water-based finishes slightly darkens/yellows the maple which I don't want to happen. I am thinking of bleaching the curly maple so that the water-based finishes will not affect the whiteness as it did before without bleaching.
Any advice about using bleached woods with water-based finishes? Am I doing the right approach in using bleach to preserve the whiteness of the maple against the cherry?
Y'all advice will be greatly appreciated!
