Designed especialaly for Mr. and Mrs. Dan Sweat, this 12-foot
cabinet of unfilled black lacquered oak surrounds a loadbearing wall
separating the sunken livingroom from the kitchen and diningroom.
It contains a counter-balanced black granite fold-out bar, which
reveals a service bar passing through into the kitchen. The bar
also features a lit 3/4" glass stemware shelf. Below the bar is a
wine rack and locked liquor storage cabinet. The doors to the right
of the bar open to reveal a video cassette storage rack, VCTC
home computer, and pull-out swiveling video monitor. Behind the
doors to the right are record storage filling bins. Amplifier and turntable.
Theh speakers are inside the top unit at both ends. On the kitchen
side, the cabinet is designed to house a 30"x30" fold-out
breakfast table, coffee maker, kitchen desk with telephone, and bulletin
board. To the left is storage for china and crystal, on the spinning room side,
two doors open to reveal horizontal rods for table linen storage.
Just to the left of these of the doors is a cabinet designed to hold the
dinner table leaves. The whole cabinet sits on a base serves as a return air
duct for all three rooms. The cabinet also features an additional
150 cubic feet of storage.
